Overview
If you have installed WordPress via Softaculous in cPanel, you can quickly log in to your WordPress admin dashboard without needing to remember the URL. Softaculous provides a direct link to your WordPress login page and stores your admin credentials.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Method 1: Log In via Softaculous
- Log in to cPanel using your account credentials.
- Under the Software section, click on Softaculous Apps Installer.
- On the left sidebar, click on WordPress under Blogs (or use the search bar at the top to find it).
- Scroll to the Current Installations section at the bottom of the page.
- Find your WordPress installation and click the Admin login link (pencil/admin icon) next to it.
- You will be taken directly to the
wp-login.phppage. Enter your WordPress username and password to log in.
Method 2: Retrieve Credentials from Softaculous
- Follow steps 1–4 above to reach the Current Installations list.
- Click the Edit button (pencil icon) next to your WordPress installation.
- Here you can view and update your Admin Username, Admin Password, Admin Email, and the Site URL.
Method 3: Direct Login URL
If you know your domain, you can access WordPress directly by going to:
https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/- or
https://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php
Important Notes
- Softaculous only shows installations that were installed via Softaculous. Manually installed WordPress sites will not appear in the Current Installations list.
- If you change your WordPress password from within the WordPress dashboard, Softaculous may still show the old password. Use Method 2 to update it.
- Always keep your WordPress admin credentials secure. Use a strong, unique password.
Troubleshooting
- Softaculous is not visible in cPanel: Your hosting provider may not have Softaculous installed. Contact support for assistance.
- No installations listed: WordPress may have been installed manually or via a different installer. Use Method 3 to log in directly.
- Forgot your WordPress password: Use the "Lost your password?" link on the login page, or reset it from Softaculous (Method 2).
- Redirect loop or error on login: Clear your browser cookies and cache for your domain, or try logging in from an incognito/private window.
