Plesk can automatically notify you when your customers approach or exceed their resource limits. This helps you prevent service disruptions and manage capacity proactively. This guide covers configuring overuse notifications as a reseller.

Understanding Resource Notifications

Plesk can send notifications when:

  • A customer subscription is approaching or has exceeded its disk space limit.
  • A customer subscription is approaching or has exceeded its traffic limit.
  • Your reseller account is approaching its overall resource limits.
  • A domain has an expired or soon-to-expire SSL certificate.

Configuring Notification Settings

  1. Log in to Plesk with your reseller credentials.
  2. Go to Tools & SettingsNotifications (or search for "Notifications" in the top bar).
  3. Browse the list of available notification events.
  4. For each event you want to be notified about:

Common notifications to enable:

  • Subscription disk usage exceeded warning. Notifies you when a customer uses more than 80% of their allocated disk space.
  • Subscription traffic limit is approaching. Notifies you when a customer is about to exceed their monthly bandwidth.
  • SSL certificate is about to expire. Notifies you 30, 14, and 7 days before expiry.
  • Subscription suspended. Notifies you when a subscription is automatically suspended (e.g., due to overuse or expiry).
  1. For each notification, select the notification channel:
    • Email: Receive notifications via email.
    • Push: Receive push notifications in the Plesk mobile app.
  2. Click OK to save.

Viewing Resource Usage at a Glance

  1. Go to Home to see your overall reseller resource usage.
  2. Go to Customers to see per-customer usage indicators.
  3. Go to Subscriptions to see per-subscription usage details.

Important Notes

  • Notifications are sent to the email address associated with your reseller account.
  • Disk space and traffic statistics are updated once per day. Notifications may be delayed by up to 24 hours.
  • Some notifications (e.g., "subscription suspended") require your hosting provider to enable them at the server level.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving notifications:

  • Check that the correct email address is configured in your reseller profile.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Ensure the notification event is enabled in Tools & SettingsNotifications.

"Notifications" option is not visible:

  • Your hosting provider may manage notifications at the server level. Contact support.
