Overview
If you have replaced or lost your SSL/TLS certificate and need to revert to a previously backed-up version, you can restore it using JetBackup directly from cPanel. JetBackup maintains scheduled backups of your SSL certificates, making recovery quick and straightforward.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Log in to cPanel using your account credentials.
- Scroll to the JetBackup section and click on SSL/TLS Backups.
- Browse the list of available backups. Use the date filter or search bar to locate the backup from the date you need.
- Click the Restore button next to the desired SSL certificate backup.
- Review the restoration summary and click Confirm (or Accept) to proceed.
- Wait for the restoration process to complete. A success notification will appear once finished.
Important Notes
- JetBackup must be enabled and configured by your hosting provider for SSL certificate backups to be available.
- Only certificates that were active at the time of the backup can be restored.
- Restoring an SSL certificate replaces the current certificate on the domain.
- It may take a few minutes for the restored certificate to take effect across all services.
Troubleshooting
- No backups listed: Ensure JetBackup schedules include SSL certificate backups. Contact support if backups appear to be missing.
- Restore fails: Check that the domain still exists on your account and that you have sufficient permissions. Try selecting a more recent backup.
- Site still showing insecure: Clear your browser cache or try an SSL check tool to verify the certificate has been updated.
