Overview

If you have replaced or lost your SSL/TLS certificate and need to revert to a previously backed-up version, you can restore it using JetBackup directly from cPanel. JetBackup maintains scheduled backups of your SSL certificates, making recovery quick and straightforward.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log in to cPanel using your account credentials.
  2. Scroll to the JetBackup section and click on SSL/TLS Backups.
  3. Browse the list of available backups. Use the date filter or search bar to locate the backup from the date you need.
  4. Click the Restore button next to the desired SSL certificate backup.
  5. Review the restoration summary and click Confirm (or Accept) to proceed.
  6. Wait for the restoration process to complete. A success notification will appear once finished.

Important Notes

  • JetBackup must be enabled and configured by your hosting provider for SSL certificate backups to be available.
  • Only certificates that were active at the time of the backup can be restored.
  • Restoring an SSL certificate replaces the current certificate on the domain.
  • It may take a few minutes for the restored certificate to take effect across all services.

Troubleshooting

  • No backups listed: Ensure JetBackup schedules include SSL certificate backups. Contact support if backups appear to be missing.
  • Restore fails: Check that the domain still exists on your account and that you have sufficient permissions. Try selecting a more recent backup.
  • Site still showing insecure: Clear your browser cache or try an SSL check tool to verify the certificate has been updated.
