Important Notes
- Always use IMAP (not POP3) so your emails stay in sync across all devices.
- Ensure your domain has an SSL certificate installed. Without SSL, the connection may be rejected or show security warnings.
- If your phone has battery saver mode enabled, push notifications may be delayed.
- The email password is your email account password (set in cPanel), not your cPanel login password.
Troubleshooting
- "Cannot connect to server" or "Authentication failed": Double-check the mail server hostname — it must be
mail.yourdomain.com(replace with your actual domain). Also verify you are using the email account password, not the cPanel password. - "SSL certificate error" on Android: Your domain may not have an SSL certificate. Contact support or enable AutoSSL in cPanel. As a temporary workaround, change security type to "none" (not recommended for security).
- Emails appear on phone but not in webmail (or vice versa): One device may be using POP3 instead of IMAP. Remove the account and re-add it selecting IMAP.
- Not receiving push notifications: On Android, go to Gmail → account settings → ensure Sync is enabled. On iOS, go to Settings → Mail → Fetch New Data → set to Push.
- Can send but not receive: Check that IMAP is enabled in cPanel. Also verify the incoming server port is
993with SSL enabled.
