Troubleshooting

  • "The email account already exists": An email address with that name was already created for this domain. Check the Email Accounts list — it may be listed further down. If you want to reset the password, click Manage next to the existing address.
  • "Password too weak" error: cPanel requires a minimum password strength (usually score 50+). Use a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Or click the Generate button to create a strong random password.
  • Cannot send emails after creating the account: Your domain's MX records may not be properly configured. Go to cPanel → Zone Editor and verify MX records point to the correct mail server. Contact support if unsure.
  • Email not receiving (can send but not receive): Check that the domain's MX records are correct and that the mailbox quota is not full. In Email Accounts, if the usage bar shows 100%, the mailbox cannot receive new messages.
  • "Connect Devices" does not show settings: Try clicking Set Up Mail Client directly instead. If settings still do not appear, your server's email configuration may be incomplete — contact support.
  • Want to create a catch-all email (receives all mail for the domain): Go to Email → Forwarders and create a domain-wide forwarder, or use cPanel → Default Address to set a catch-all.
