An email forwarder automatically sends a copy of incoming emails to another email address. For example, you can forward [email protected] to your personal Gmail account. The original email is still delivered to your mailbox unless you set up a domain forwarder.

How to Create an Email Forwarder

  1. Log in to your cPanel account.
  2. Navigate to the Email section and click Forwarders.
  3. Click Add Forwarder.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Address to forward: enter the part before the @ (e.g., info)
    • Domain: select your domain from the dropdown
    • Destination: select Forward to Email Address and enter the target address (e.g., [email protected])
  5. Click Add Forwarder.
  6. The forwarder is now active. Test it by sending an email to the source address.

How to Forward All Domain Email to One Address

If you want any email sent to any address at your domain (including non-existent addresses) to go to one inbox:

  1. In Forwarders, click Add Domain Forwarder.
  2. Select your domain from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the destination email address.
  4. Click Add Domain Forwarder.

Important Notes

  • A forwarder sends a copy of the email — the original still goes to the source mailbox if it exists.
  • If the source email account does not exist, the forwarder still works (it catches mail for non-existent addresses).
  • Forwarders are processed immediately — no delay beyond normal email delivery.
  • You can create multiple forwarders for the same address (e.g., forward info@ to both Gmail and an office address).
  • To stop forwarding, simply delete the forwarder from the Forwarders page.

Troubleshooting

  • Forwarded emails are not arriving at the destination: Check that the destination email address is correct. Also check the destination mailbox's spam folder — forwarded emails can sometimes be flagged as spam by Gmail, Outlook, etc.
  • "The email account already exists" error: You cannot create a forwarder for an address that already has a regular email account. Either delete the email account first, or set up forwarding from within the email account's settings.
  • Forwarded emails arrive but show the wrong "from" address: This is normal — forwarded emails keep the original sender's address. If you need to change the "from" address, use a mailing list or mailing list plugin instead.
  • Want to forward AND keep a copy in the original mailbox: The forwarder already does this automatically if the source email account exists. Emails are delivered to both the source and destination.
  • Forwarder works but with a delay: Check that the destination mail server is not rate-limiting or blocking your server. Common with Gmail — forwarded bulk email may be delayed or filtered.
