Plesk lets you control which features and tools your customers can access. Permissions are defined in service plans, but you can also check and understand what each permission controls.
Understanding Key Permissions
- Manage DNS: Allows customers to modify DNS records.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates: Allows customers to install and manage SSL certificates.
- PHP settings management: Allows customers to change PHP version and settings.
- Access to server over SSH: Allows SSH access (use with caution).
- Cron jobs: Allows customers to schedule automated tasks.
- File Manager: Allows customers to manage files via the web interface.
- Web statistics: Allows customers to view traffic and visitor reports.
- Log rotation: Allows customers to manage log rotation settings.
Modifying Permissions in a Service Plan
- Go to Service Plans → Hosting Plans.
- Click the plan name.
- Go to the Permissions tab.
- Enable or disable permissions as needed.
- Click OK.
Important Notes
- Disabling a permission for a plan will immediately remove access for all synced subscriptions.
- Be cautious with SSH and database management permissions.
Troubleshooting
