Disk quota usage warnings allow WHM to automatically notify cPanel account owners when their disk space usage reaches configurable warn and critical thresholds. Enabling this feature helps users stay informed about their storage consumption.

Step 1: Log in to WHM

Open your browser and navigate to https://your-server:2087. Enter your root credentials to log in.

Step 2: Navigate to Tweak Settings

In the left-hand menu, go to Home » Server Configuration » Tweak Settings.

Step 3: Find the Disk Quota Warning Setting

Use the search bar at the top of the page and type disk quota. Look for the option labelled Disk quota usage warnings.

Step 4: Enable the Setting

Toggle the switch to On.

Step 5: Save Changes

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

Important Notes

  • This setting is the master switch for disk quota notifications. It must be enabled for the warn and critical percentage thresholds to work.
  • Configure the warn and critical thresholds separately in Account disk quota "warn" percentage and Account disk quota "critical" percentage.
  • Notifications are sent to the contact email address configured in each cPanel account.
  • This is a server-wide setting that applies to all cPanel accounts on the server.
  • Quotas must be enabled on the filesystem for this feature to function properly.

Troubleshooting

  • Users not receiving warnings: Ensure that both this setting and the warn/critical percentages are configured. Verify each account has a valid contact email.
  • Quota warnings not triggering: Confirm that filesystem quotas are enabled. You can check this in Home » Quota Modification or by running repquota -a in SSH.
  • Cannot find the option: Use the search/filter bar at the top of Tweak Settings to locate it quickly.
